URGENT -
I already have approved I-140 in eb3/Sept 2002. I am substituting a labor (EB2) - if approved I would be able to apply for I-485 right away.
My Lawyer has advised to apply I-140 as it is for EB2. (which means no reference to earlier eb3 PD ) And upon its approval during I-485 application, request for earlier PD. In fact, as per him - only reference I need is to seek eligibility for I-485 application. Which is true but shouldn�t I-140 which is basis of I-485 application should show eligible PD.
Please let me know yr opinion.

Question: When I am at the port of entry, I will have my old H1-B valid for 2 more months and also the visa stamp valid for 2 more months, but a new H1-B I-797 is already approved. Will this cause a problem?

I further checked with my companies attorney and also called USCIS and understood that I need to file EAD and AP with Texas service center as I live in Massachusetts.
I did paper filing and sent my application today.

Call up AILA and ask them what are your options. Do not tell them the lawyer name yet.

I presume that you have a lawyer. They should work with you HR group to get the ads set and sent to the BPC.

One other suggestion! YOu may want to build a "bird mask" using the select color tool. and then apply that above the NI'd image.
This will some of the noise in the bird but will add detail in the bird. The select color range tool will give a semi transparent selection so it will kind of give you the best of both worlds than a straight select tool.
Also you could use Q and do a qick mask then use a semi transparent brush to select the bird to do the same things as color range select.

I just came back this afternoon (1:30 PM EST) via Dubai...Atlanta..from Chennai.. Just showed AP document and passport.. no questions asked...
Airline just verified AP at Chennai and Dubai to ensure I travel with valid documentation to USA.
sanjay02: Dependents may need to produce Primary Applicant's 485 receipt just incase they ask.. Not sure if it really matters as there is no primary or dependent on AP document mentioned.

I got the same email like you later in the day today. 485 is not in the USCIS office where it was transferred. Hopefully they will work on our cases soon.

Prepaid taxis at the airport is the best. You dont have to haggle over prices, pay tips or commission or no such nonsense. Fixed rate based on distance. Govt prepaid and Fast track are good. Would suggest Fast track.. decent cars with decent prices.
Fasttrack is even recommended for local travel... reliable call taxi service.
As for hotels, if you are looking at hotels in and around 5 kms of Chennai Central railway station, you can look at areas of Egmore, Kilpauk and Nugambakkam. Aruna Inn in Nugambakkam is a decent 2-3 star. Try to find hotels in these areas and make a researvation thru makemytrip.com or yatra.com
