We were successful in getting good media coverage with flower campaign. Our San Jose rally is getting good regional coverage. Yes, we haven't had the expected success with national media yet but we are gaining traction at an amazing pace.
This is not a big corporation with some PR dept. that is working with hundred of employees writing press releases et al. Volunteers like you and me have to take on that action item if you want to see results otherwise please continue on with your discussion
That is absolutely right, it is our job to write to reporters and call them, if we want good publicity. Please digg, write to reporters, do not just wait on the sidelines and see if we have gotten any coverage. We wont get any by just being on the forums discussing.
On a second note, gsc999 worked very hard organising the San Jose rally, and personally I saw a lot of dedication on his part and some other members. People came upto him and asked him to arrange another rally next week. He answered it very well. Why dont people take ownership and organise things on their own, rather than just giving out suggestions and expecting other people to do the tough work.

Does filing of dependent's I-485 anything to do with LUD on approved I-140/I-131 of Primary applicant? Anybody having similar experience?

I was in the same boat as you. I did not get my wife's AOS receipt but all others ( 5 out of 6) . But when the FP notices came with her AOS receipt number on it, I thought USCIS may have misplaced the receipt.

I spoke to the US mission- they dont have information yet about the process change for people who want to take appointments after 1st of Sept.
However people who have already taken appointments prior to Sept 1 are not subject to any change. They need to show up with a reciept the day of the interview as before.

Thanks again to everyone. I will ask him to join IV. :) He like me has been in the country for over 10 years. The combined stress (finding a partner plus this gc dragging thing) has made him catatonic to some extent.
He is just doing his job and looks beyond caring about anything anymore.But I worry for him so thats the reason for the post.

In every campaign, every battle, there is a bunch of people who move the agenda forward, and there is a bunch of people who sit on the sidelines predicting the worst. Gnashing their teeth, ruing their fate, wondering if the people who are working are working hard enough.
Sound familiar? Is this trend beginning to develop even in IV's own forums forget about The Other forum?
IV is a profoundly realistic group - we *know* we are fighting a hard battle. Which side would you rather be on? The side that says I'll only do something constructive when victory is almost in sight/certain or the side that makes victory happen step by step, day by day, member by member, task by task?
This forum is no place for the Doom and Gloom crew. We know the size of the battle, and we need all the optimism and drive we can get to fight it.
So cut the wailing (or take it to that other therapy forum) and instead of asking what IV is doing for you, ask what you can do to help yourself and all of us in this mess! Channel your rage and despair.
You've contributed. Fabulous. Reach out and recruit other members. Have them contribute. Join one of our volunteer teams get involved in some activity -- alliance building, media, web design, ad design, membership drive.
Read our basic documents and educate yourselves. I'm continually shocked by the number of people caught in this jam who can't be bothered to read about the mess they are in. If you are wondering which documents -- go to the Resources for lawmaker meetings page -- that has a list of 5 with links.

Joe Biden is stating a fact that in Delaware most 711s are owned/operated by Indians. It is a fact the same way as most motels are owned/operated by Patels. You might have heard the saying " In US there are hotels, motels and Patels" Where as Macaca comment is making a insult based on how some one looks and also the specific word is a racial slur.

I am proud of my 4 year old girl. She has written a letter to the President. When a 4 year old can write , we have 25k adult members and only about 500 of them have sent letters! Why ?

Just add this word document, and send a email to your work email address with the word document attached. when you see this email at work, just print 2 copies of the attachment, thats all you have to do.

I called once after my PD became current this month, that was last Wednesday (9th). The IO that I spoke to would not give me any information. All she said was "You will hear from us within next 60 days". So I guess it all depends on the IO that you speak to. As for LUDs, I did not get any since my FP.
As for Cross Chargeabilty, I saw a post on a successfull case only yesterday on IV forums. So it actually works. Hope you hear some good news soon.
BTW how did you request CIS to use your spouce's country of birth? Did you send then a letter requesting it? How about requesting an INFOPASS to get their attention?

Two things:
1. You might benefit from 245(k) provisions. Check with your attorney.
2. Do not provide tax returns. it is not required at the time of filing of green card application.

I like. The varying tones are very interesting. I'm sure the black and white version looks better than the color.
The color version is very dull, so I tried desaturating and bumping the contrast quite a bit. I haven't done much B&W so it's a bit of trial and error but I think B&W might suit this type of graphic picture.

I hold a H1b Visa but did not work after coming to US.
Can anybody guide me regarding my current status.
My H1 was approved in 2007 quota and i entered US in march 2008..but was not successful in getting a job and my employer is not running any payroll..
can anybody help me with this??

There are people from EB3 with PD from 2001 ( yeah, TWO THOUSAND AND ONE) who are maintaining their EB status diligently by having a steady job and waiting and waiting and waiting for their GC to come.
Now, you coolly come and say what you have just said and have the gall to ask for advice.
The same applies to other poster 'nehas' also who had a similar question.
